'Scuse me AOL.

It's just that if it was 40 West Ham at a tube station and a geezer in a Millwall cap rocks up giving it the big one I think he'd get a fair play - there's the scarfer rule and all that.

Or just a slap for being a div anyway.

But then they were Millwall after all. I hope you'd had a drink and all.

Jimbo

A Millwall fan ran on the pitch hitting a few pitch invaders

That's violence?

Re: The 10 biggest rivalries in London football
The 2009 meeting with Millwall saw violence OUTSIDE the stadium, not inside it. Yet another urban myth that is wrong!

make no mistake Spurs fans hate us. Maybe it is a relatively new thing, but u only have to stumble on a Spurs board, and see how they shat themselves when we were temporarily 1 point behind them

Are you calling me a liar? If you must know, yes, they did. I think my c&b cap had something to do with it - arsehole.

Re: The 10 biggest rivalries in London football
Millwall every day for me. But I don't regard it as a rivalry, just an ancient, deep seated hatred.

Anyone who's ever been to their old place doesn't need telling just how fucking vicious things used to get.
I don't know who the daft fucker was that came up with the idea of us playing in Harry Cripps' testimonial, but it has to be the stupidest decision of all time. Bill Gardner said it was the worst violence he'd ever seen, and I for one wouldn't argue with him (ha, ha).

On a personal note I once got bushwacked by the retards. I'd left our game at Palace early for some reason, and I met a little firm of about 50 of them between platforms at Bank station as they were returning from the Orient. Tried fronting it out as they marched towards me but only got half way past before they jumped me. Got a right kicking.

Re: The 10 biggest rivalries in London football
Millwall are without doubt the natural and historic rivals, hated rivals and it is mutual

Anyone who went to the Cold Blow Lane knows there was only ever one Lane to really watch your step, Tottenham was a piss take by comparison and make no mistake.

In modern day, Spurs are an event and I really despise the cunts but it has absolutely nothing on the deep seated hatred between us and the Wall, its in the dna

It probably is Millwall for me, mainly because I enjoy the angst with millwall.

Out of all the opposition fans that have been mates or work colleagues, the millwall fans have always been the most knowledgable about football though.

Spurs, arse, man u, and chelsea have the most clueless supporters.

In the past it's always been millwall, nowadays it's spuds because of as well as big fucking noses their gobs have got much bigger too. The hate started with lasagnegate, got worse when we done the treble over them.. Ffs, like they won the World Cup in November.. Tosses!

Re: The 10 biggest rivalries in London football
If I cast my mind back, growing up in SE3 I always had the most trouble with Millwall.

I made no secret of my West Ham loyalties - it was the club I chose and the few Hammers in the school/area were always very knowledgable and happy to share their knowledge if you showed interest in the club and its history. Anyway, obviously most round there were Charlton - mostly the sons of tradesmen with mums who worked in the council. There was a basic respect there for West Ham, and I was alright with them. Then there was the usual scattering of Crystal Palace, Arsenal and Spurs, also the odd Man U. or Liverpool (O social status).
But the kids from the dodgy families where almost invariably Millwall, and the main rivalry was between them and the Charlton lads, though like I said, I never had any Millwall mates. Later on at Uni in New Cross, I just kept quite about my West Ham in the pubs.

I can't get too worked up about Spurs. Sure, I don't like them, but to be honest even in the modern era I dislike Chelsea more. On the other hand I fucking hate Millwall. No contest for me.
